Granite
With its natural beauty and sophistication, granite countertops are the preferred material for most modern kitchens. Quarried worldwide, granite is available in numerous rich and elegant textures and colors ranging from light-colors to deeper tones. As a natural stone, all granite has inherent variation, depth, and movement; each slab has unique characteristics including speckling, veining, and even metallic flecks. Closer to diamonds in hardness, granite is virtually impervious to abrasions, stains, and heat; however, it does need to be sealed on occasion. We have a choice of up to 70 different colors of granite countertops, but more importantly we have a healthy relationship with several local fabricators who are always more than willing to assist our customers in personally choosing their granite slabs. Being both elegant and durable, granite is a brilliant choice for a high-end look that adds warmth and value to your home.
Quartz
Similar to granite, quartz countertops are a scratch, stain, and heat resistant solid surface. Quartz surfaces are a manmade stone composed of roughly 93% quartz and 7% resins and pigment. Unlike granite, quartz surfaces have a uniform consistency and very little movement within the stone; it is a non-porous material and thus does not require sealing. Kitchen & Bath Impression carries the two largest quartz companies, Caesarstone and Silestone, and we have up to 32 color samples of each product on display. Although quartz surfaces are best suited for kitchen countertops, its applications are near endless, with such applications as bathroom vanity tops, tabletops, or even flooring. Soapstone
With its capabilities for built-in sinks and the intrinsic value of its vein-like grain, soapstone has become an increasingly popular choice for the homeowner with the desire to both make a statement and have an easy, functional surface to work on. With the hardness and surface texture of this metamorphic rock, your soapstone countertop will be durable and virtually stain-proof. If you are looking for something cutting-edge and unique to grace your cabinets, then the rich, dark patina and drama of soapstone will add a impressive modern touch to your home.
Butcher-Block Countertops
Whether used as an insert, accent, or even on an entire island, butcher-block countertops can add an interesting contrast and character to modern or traditional kitchens. Butcher-block tops can provide warmth to your home by breaking up the large, cold surface of a stone countertop or create an inviting focal point for your family to gather around. Whether it is the clean straight grained look of maple or the rich honey tones of oak, wood is a good choice for the work surfaces of your kitchen. Although the product is durable, it will scratch and may stain; moreover, using the block as a cutting board will wear the surface. However, the great feature of butcher block is that a light sanding and oiling of the affected area brings it back to its original condition. Its versatility as decorative yet durable, wear-resistant surface is unmatched by imitations, and will grow more beautiful with age.
